“If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself.” – Albert Einstein

The most complex ideas can be explained in the simplest of terms if you truly understand what you’re talking about. Intelligence is measured in many ways, but the most fundamental is one’s ability to explain things in a simplistic manner.

Aiming for simplicity can be applied to multiple settings of one’s life. Examples of settings include the workplace, intra/interpersonal relationships, home, etc.

Try this! Test your knowledge and explain something you’re well informed of to a young person. If the young person is able to understand the concept just as well as you, then you’ve got it. Why not extend this practice to other settings, as well? You may be surprised at what you find. Just remember…Simplicity is key!
